Ethan and Colin are our youngest November Smiles recipients to date, but age is just a number with these two. At just 6 (Ethan) and 3 (Colin) years old, these young men were faced with a scenario that is not easy at any age. Their father, Roderick Houston, passed away suddenly on May 24th, 2019. Roderick was only 36 years old. Roderick's legacy will live on through his two amazing boys.

You know you are working with special kids when a high school baseball coach nominates them to receive a November Smile. These boys are 8 and 11 years away from being in high school, but have already made an impact on high school coaches. Ethan is a baseball and basketball lover! He plays baseball for a local organization and on a travel team at just 6 years old! He also plays basketball during the winter. Colin also plays baseball at only 3 years old! Needless to say, these young men are natural athletes!

When we found out how much they love baseball, we knew we wanted to do something special for them. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of the Chicago White Sox, we were able to bring Ethan and Colin face to face with an MLB All Star, a Cy Young (best pitcher in the league) candidate, a 24 year old budding superstar, and a manager with the biggest heart you will ever come across.
